The North County Branch of the Hunterdon County Library is located on 65 Halstead Street, Clinton, N. J. 08809.  Telephone: (908) 730-6262.

Direct borrowing privileges are available to residents of the county, except for residents of Lambertville and Milford boroughs. Residents of the Flemington borough must obtain their library card from the Flemington Public Library. A non-resident may obtain a Hunterdon County Library card for an annual fee of $90.00. Children must at least be in Kindergarten or the age of five (5); also children below the age of 18 must have their registration cards signed by a parent or guardian.

Library materials are due on the date shown on the date card in the item borrowed or on the date stamped on the back of the item.  Renewals:

  • Items checked out at Hunterdon County Library can be renewed at our branch and member libraries, and vice versa.

  • Items checked out on the Bookmobile, must be renewed on the Bookmobile.

  • There are no renewals on cdroms, videos, items which have holds on them, or if a Final Notice has been sent for an item.

  • Items can only be renewed once, whether done at the library or remotely.

  • Information for items checked out at Flemington, Lambertville, or Milford Public libraries will not be reflected on your patron record, and therefore cannot be renewed at the libraries in the Hunterdon County Library System.

  • In order NOT to accumulate fines, renewals should be done before 9:00 PM on the date due.

A book drop is located at the library entrance for return of books when the library is not open. To prevent possible damage, phonograph records, and videos should not be placed in the book drop. Books may also be returned to any branch library, member library, or bookmobile. Borrowing privileges are suspended when books are six weeks overdue or fines are $5 or more.

Borrowers may reserve books and other materials that are not immediately available. Reserves of popular items will be filled in order of receipt and borrowers will be notified when reserved materials become available. Reserved material will be held for 5 days only.

Overdue Charges:

  • The fine for overdue materials is 5 cents/operating day
