TITLE: HORRIBLE DOG ATTACK
CL TWP - On Wednesday, August 1, at approximately 8:30 am, Patrolman David Formalarie responded to Smoke Rise Lane for a report of a woman being attacked by a dog. The initial report came from a resident who heard the woman screaming and the victim, who was walking her dogs during the incident, soon called police as well. Upon arrival, Ptl. Formalarie observed several citizens rendering aid to the victim, a forty-one (41) year-old Clinton Township woman, and her two dogs. Ptl. Formalarie observed that the woman had blood on her legs and chest and was holding a rag soaked with blood on her head. The dogs were bleeding heavily from their throats. The victim reported that a large tan lab was running loose on the street when it began to attack one of her dogs. When she attempted to free her dog, the attacking dog knocked her over causing her to hit her head on the pavement. Two citizens then intervened and were able to stop the attack. The Clinton Rescue Squad responded and transported the victim to the Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment. Clinton Township Animal Control Officer Doug Rohl responded and transported the two victim dogs to the Hunterdon Hills Animal Hospital for treatment. Ptl. Formalarie determined that the attacking dog’s shots are up to date. The matter has been turned over to A.C.O. Rohl. Charges are pending.
