TITLE: THE DARWIN WINNER OF THE DAY - how does this bloke not end up in hc jail??

On Tuesday, August 31, at approximately 4:40 pm, Sergeant Matthew McGill stopped a vehicle operated by Kurt Haas, age 48, of Glen Gardner, for speeding on Gray Rock Road near the Clinton Township Middle School. During the stop, Sgt. McGill detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on Mr. Haas’ breath and soon determined that he was intoxicated. Sgt. McGill also learned that Mr. Haas’ driver’s license was suspended due to multiple prior Driving While Intoxicated convictions. Mr. Haas was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he refused to provide samples of his breath for chemical testing to determine the content of alcohol in his blood. As a result, Mr. Haas was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated in a School Zone, Refusal To Submit to a Breath Test, and Speeding. Mr. Haas was released to the custody of a responsible adult and his vehicle was towed and impounded.
