TITLE: IN CLINTON TWP THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO DATA TO INDICATE THAT A CANCER CLUSTER EXISTS
 

HUNTERDON COUNTY - There are a lot of rumors swirling around about a possible cancer cluster stemming from the Pat McGaheran School in Cl Twp. This started with an inquiry made by a teachers group and it has started to swell to parents who obviously are considered about children who have attended in the past and in the present.

Fact – data was collected - it has not been analyzed – that will take, at the state level., anywhere from two weeks to six weeks to be put together. Until then there is absolutely no reason to believe that such a problem exists.

 Fact – there are many different kinds of cancer and just because a group may have gotten a lot of different kinds there are immense factors that go into that, including the age of the people who are getting different cancers, their personal behavior etc…

Fact – once the data is collected an analyzed a statement will be made and things will progress from there. Until then there is no reason to create a panic situation.

Fact – in the early part of this century there were situations of this nature in Hunterdon where people got into a bit of a panic. The date was collected and it became evident to the citizens that there was no reason to go to that conclusion. Until there is real evidence we need to sit tight and obviously hope for the best.
