TITLE: CLINTON TWP POLICE PARTICIPATING IN TAKE BACK NJ - program designed to get old medicine off shelves
The Clinton Township Police Department will once again be hosting the “Operation Take Back New Jersey” medicine disposal day. Coordinated locally by Sergeant Mathew Wilson, the event will take place at the Clinton Township Police Department between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2010. This initiative, open to all residents, was organized to encourage the proper disposal of unused, unwanted, or expired medicine. The statewide effort is coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) New Jersey Division, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, New York/New Jersey HIDTA, and the New Jersey National Guard. Clinton Township residents looking for more information on the program and local collection sites can visit www.operationtakebacknj.com.
Last year, New Jersey residents deposited over nine thousand (9,000) pounds of unwanted medicine.
