HARKERS HOLLOW has opened its golfing doors to the public. While in a state of bankruptcy the course lay dormant for some time and suffered some damage to the grass. THE HC NEWS went to review the course three weeks ago and then went back on Friday, the immediate changes were incredible. The groundskeeper is working long hours and it shows. The course is rising back to the level that made it one of the finer private clubs in this area and you can play it now for rates that are so reasonable that if you are a golfer and are playing anywhere else in the area you are missing a treat.
During this week we will have feature articles on the ongoing progress the club is making. You can book tee times on line by going to http://harkershollow.com/index.html and you can check out the daily fee rates here - http://harkershollow.com/rates.html
Enjoy the experience, you will thank us when you’re finished with the round.
The Grill Room, bar and dining area have also been refurbished and are a nice place to finish off your afternoon.

This is one of the tougher holes on the course. getting there in two takes two
great shots. Off the tee there is a ditch on the left that will cause you to
drop. The green is deep. On your second shot take another club and make sure you
carry the rise.

Stay Left or you will be laying up in front of the creek, which leave a 9 iron
in. Be very wary of the creek if you tee shot is wayward.

Great Par Three. Deep Bunker to the left and the creek winds all the way around
the right side so if you bail out right you are dead. Be wary of the wind, there
is a lot of wide open area midway to the hole that allows the breeze to knock
off a few yards of a timid shot.
This is a green side view so you can see how the creek curls around
have a snack at the halfway shack or go inside for something more substantial
Behind the halfway house you can sit, take a breather, and get ready for the
back.

par
five tenth, a deep slice finds the pond but its really no in play. Your goal is
to leave yourself a third shot from the right side of the fairway at about
100yrds
From behind the green you can see trees on the right. If you are behind them you
have little chance at making birdie.

This
medium length par three can be had by bouncing one off the right side near the
bunker and letting the ball trickle on. If you pull it left you can go a long
way down the slope toward the tenth fairway.
A look from behind the green

Stay LEFT - this dogleg right is blind to the green from the tee. If you are
behind the pines on the right you will not be making par.
The carts in the middle of the fairway are in perfect position off the tee to
get to this green. Hit a good tee ball and you will have less than 150 in.
