Tea Anyone ?
April 15th is Tax Day; ideal for a march on Washington. Given that
Hunterdon County is the third most heavily taxed county in the United
States; it seems only fitting and proper that the citizens voice their
opinions of the current dismal state of national affairs. This is a call
to county residents to rouse themselves on that day and make their
feelings known directly to our representatives in Washington, D.C. We
would saddle up about 8 AM so as to get to D.C. around noon; have lunch
in one of the Congressional office buildings, present personal letters
to our representatives; take a class picture on the Capitol steps and
then involve ourselves in the rally on the mall, returning early that
evening.
As each personal letter and hand delivery is representative of 1000
citizens, your efforts will most certainly be recognized. This will
demonstrate that the voters are watching and keeping score. We would all
share in the cost of a bus. Those interested in participating are
encouraged to contact me to work out details. Time is short, so act now.
Being a citizen in a Republic has responsibilities. If you are upset at
what is going on, make your feelings known and reserve April 15th for
what could very well become a historic day. Silence is consent. If you
do not consent, now is the time to be heard. Pass the word and invite
your friends.
