TITLE: VOORHEES HIGH STUDENT WINS FIRST PLACE IN NATIONAL VIDEO CONTEST
Ten Students from Voorhees High School’s TV program attended the Student Television Network’s (STN) annual convention in Anaheim, CA, from March 3-7, 2010. A major focus of the convention is the on-site competitions. Competitions range from creating short commercials, music videos, journalistic writing, or short original films. All VHSTV students competed in several of the competitions against the best video school programs in the country. One senior, Dillon Pajunas of Hampton NJ, competed in the Music Soundtrack Competition and took first place! At the beginning of the competition, he was given a 2-minute random video which had no audio. Dillon had three hours to produce an original musical score that matched the mood of the piece. Dillon received his award at the closing ceremonies of the convention.
This year’s convention was held at the Disney Land Hotel and was attended by 1,831 students, from over 150 high schools, representing 27 different states. STN is a national non-profit organization comprised of Television/Film/Broadcast Journalism programs from high schools and middle schools around the country. Next year’s convention will take place in Orlando, Florida.
