TITLE: THE DARWIN WINNER OF THE DAY - man arrested for DUI in courtroom with warrant
On Thursday, January 28, 2010, at approximately 1850 hours, Patrolman Hartmann observed a vehicle illegally parked in the parking lot of the Readington Township Municipal Court. The registered owner of the vehicle was Michael Marsalek, 43, of Lebanon, New Jersey, who had one outstanding warrant out of Clinton Township for $1000.00. Marsalek was discovered in the Readington Township Courtroom, for a previous incident. Marsalek was arrested for the outstanding warrant and was walked back to the processing room. Speaking with Marsalek, Patrolman Hartmann detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Marsalek’s breath. Marsalek admitted that he drove to court and was charged with driving while intoxicated. Marsalek was issued a summons for driving while intoxicated and was unable to post bail for the outstanding warrant. Marsalek was lodged in the Hunterdon County Jail pending a future court date.
