Readington
On Sunday, February 7, at approximately 8:50 pm, Lt. Scott Crater, SFC. John Insabella, and Ptlm. Greg Wester, was dispatched to a township home for a report of a mental health patient who was barricaded in a bedroom and refusing to return to the Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital in Glen Gardner where he was committed. The man was granted visitation with family members but was required to return to the hospital by 8:00 pm, Sunday.
When the officers arrived the 44-year-old man refused to cooperate and come out of the bedroom. The officers were able to gain entry into the bedroom at which time the man attempted to fight with the officers. The man was quickly subdued and handcuffed; the officers detained the man until Human Services Police officers arrived and transported the man back to the Hagedorn Psychiatric Hospital.
