TITLE: TOMORROWS FREE FLU CLINIC AMENDS TIMES IN RESPECT FOR SNOW - details

TIME CHANGE FOR FEBRUARY 5th CLINIC

4PM-6:30PM

Due to possible inclement weather, this clinic will close at 6:30pm. However, we will admit anyone who arrives by 6:30pm.  Check this site or contact the health department H1N1 call center at 908-237-7150 after 2pm on Feb 5 to verify that the clinic has not been canceled.

The Hunterdon County Department of Health will offer a free H1N1 influenza clinic on Friday, February 5, from 4pm-8pm at Voorhees Regional High School in Glen Gardner. This event is open to the public and will serve individuals ages 6 months and older. Both injectable vaccine and FluMist vaccine will be offered. FluMist, which contains no preservatives, will be administered to healthy individuals ages 2-49, while the injectable vaccine will be available to individuals aged 6 months and older regardless of health condition.

“This clinic is being offered for those who have not yet received their H1N1 vaccination, and for parents who are awaiting a chance to get their children the booster shot of H1N1 vaccine,” said John Beckley, health officer and director of the Hunterdon County Department of Health. According to Beckley, this may be the last H1N1 public clinic this flu season. “We’re continuously reassessing the pandemic trends while evolving our organizational capacities to deal with any possible resurgence.”

Pre-registration is required.  Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  To pre-register, go to www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/health.htm or contact the health department H1N1 call center at 908-237-7150. Specific questions can also be emailed to health@co.hunterdon.nj.us.

Prior to arrival at the clinic, registered patients should read the Vaccine Information Form titled "What You Need to Know," and complete and sign the Vaccination Consent Form. Be sure to select the proper consent form that matches the type of vaccine you desire: FluMist or injectable. These forms can be found by clicking the link provided in an appointment confirmation e-mail registrants will receive. Consent forms will also be available at the clinic site.

In the event of inclement weather, residents should call the H1N1 call center or check the county health department web site after 2pm on the day of the clinic.
