The back nine is an adventure, much different from the straight in your face front.
Tenth
hole, get the scoring going. Par 5. Rip the drive off the right edge of that
left bunker sticking out. Stay away from the right, the farm field is now
growing golf balls. Take our word for it, you have to hit two great balls
to get there in two. We don't have a photo of the green as the heavens dumped on
us and the dig cam went for cover. A second shot three wood, gets you within
100. The green is flat. Go right at the pin and make a 4 to get the nine going.
11 Risk
Reward, it's that simple. The hole is short. It's driveable, but watch out, the
two guys who went for it had to drop, yes again right is dead, and left is not
pretty either. The prudent play is a four hybrid toward off the right bunker.
But beware on your second, there is a bunker in front that you cannot see, and a
gimme birdie can turn into a bogie real fast.

up to where a lay up leaves you.
Nice par
three 12th. Pin position is the entire thing and can change the hole two clubs.
Back Left is a challenge. Aim middle. taking 3 is fine. Front bunker up and down
if its in the back it a hope and a prayer.
13 is
risk reward danger blind, guessing hole. You hit your tee shot from here,
ideally aiming at right bunker and having it drop to the middle of the fairway.
A lot of shots end up where the blue shirt left is, which means .........
You have
to make a choice, lay up in front of this mess here in front, or bang it over
and try and set up a chip for bird. One piece of advice, the mess is a lot wider
than it looks. If you lay up you have about 155 in right in front of the mess,
but beware, try and lay up to close and you will be gobbled and dropping as it
slopes toward the mess at the end.
Here is
the view behind the green, you can see the carry is a little dicey.
Up Up and
away. The 14th is blind from the tee but straight away. go ahead and bang.

And you
can see the slope back to front, and the ridge that runs through, can anyone say
three putt if you're not careful.
The
yardage plays dead, on, so why so so many swing to hard, it looks far. relax,
there is no trouble right in front of you. Hit the proper club and swing easy.
16 par 5
- This can be fun or disaster and we took this shot where you hit a possible
third in. This is looking back at the tee - sort of, you see the tee is down the
other side of the hill you are looking at. If you hit a good drive you get to
the top, with a chance to hit it to this spot in front of this bunker. But you
may have a downhill lie and the tree there on the left creates a thin striking
area, and the carry over the mess is longer than you might think. Any errant
swing thoughts and you can put up a snow man fast.

from the left of the last shot you get this green, again sloping front to back.
If you get it on the green in three take a good run at bird, especially if you
have an uphill putt.
Par
three, up the hill. If the pin is stuck up on the right grab another club and
MAKE SURE , you carry the bunkers or the chance at 3 are slim. Middle of the
green is a good swing thought.
18 is a
wonderful finishing hole. Haven't seen water all day, here's some. the ponds run
the entire distance down the right and have fountains shooting the h20 into the
air just in case you didn't notice. it plays long. You will most likely have
about 2 bills for your approach and that water keeps staring at you should
you want to put a little extra in and pull it.
This view
looks across the box at the par 3 17 over the pond. Its a nice spot to take a
breath and appreciate where we live.
Ahh yess,
notice the lads looking into the abyss for the ball that might have killed a
fish. As you can see this fairway is straight as an arrow, you just have to hit
it that way.
Heron Glen is a wonderful day off golf, give it a shot, you won't be sorry.
