Dear Parents/Guardians:

On April 30, 2008, I wrote to you regarding an unauthorized access of our SIRS computer application and

database. Following our investigation into this matter, we were able to determine the persons responsible and

they have been disciplined. In addition, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure that this type of

dissemination of pupil data by anyone who has access to this information does not take place again. Lastly, we

have confirmed that there is no danger to our student population and the incident appears to be limited to this

incident.

I wish to reiterate that the Administration and the Board of Education take the protection of confidential student

data very seriously. I am confident that this was an isolated occurrence which will not happen again in the

future.
