TITLE: Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash

On Tuesday, May 13, at approximately 2:20 pm, a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo operated by Herman Mondel, age 85, of Lopatcong Township, was traveling west on Beaver Avenue (County Route 626) near Belvidere Road when the vehicle crossed over the double-yellow line and struck head-on into a 1997 Peterbuilt 330 delivery truck operated by Raymond Stuart, age 47, of Old Bridge, which was traveling east on Beaver Avenue. Mr. Mondel was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Stuart was apparently uninjured. The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Hunterdon County Fatal Collision Team (FACT).
