TITLE: EMERGENCY TRAINING EXERCISE TO BE HELD AT RVCC
DESCRIPTION:
Time: 07:22:14
Raritan Valley Community College (RVCC), in conjunction with the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, will hold an Emergency Training Exercise Thursday, May 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the College’s North Branch Campus.
The exercise, which is recommended by the Governor’s Task Force on Campus Security, is being held to test RVCC’s emergency plan to deal with a number of potential threats on campus. More than 75 law enforcement personnel, including representatives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s and Sherriff’s Offices, State Police and members of local law enforcement, are expected to take part in the exercise.
“In response to the rise in violence on college campuses, the RVCC administration decided it would be appropriate to test the effectiveness of our emergency response plan. This exercise will provide us with valuable information on how we can best protect our students and members of the College community in the event of an emergency,” said RVCC President Dr. Casey Crabill.
Classes will meet as scheduled on May 22, but visitors are encouraged to consider conducting campus business on an alternate day. The College’s Testing Center will be closed.
