The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Staff Sgt. Victor M. Cota, 33, of Tucson, Ariz., died May 14 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device in Kadamiyah, Iraq, May 13. He was assigned to the Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
