TITLE: Free Classes at High Bridge Pilates in June
DESCRIPTION:
Time: 09:42:31
To celebrate the studio’s one year anniversary, High Bridge Pilates will offer free Mat Pilates classes every Tuesday night during the month of June. Classes will be held from 6-7pm at the United Methodist Church located at 40 Church Street in High Bridge. All fitness levels are welcome, and mats and props are provided. Beginner students will also receive a complimentary 30-minute session before the class.
The Pilates method of body conditioning is a system of stretching and strengthening exercises developed over ninety years ago by Joseph H. Pilates for dancers and athletes. It strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, unites body and mind and creates a more streamlined shape. Pilates is a perfect workout for those with lower back issues or who need lo-impact exercises without any jarring motions to the body. Athletes and those looking to firm and tone their body will benefit from the unique movements and exercises.
The Pilates practice uses precise breathing patterns designed to energize and revitalize the mind and body. Many students report feeling refreshed and calm after class.
The studio also offers Yoga classes for beginner and intermediate levels. A free, mixed-level Yoga class will be held on Saturday, June 14th from 10:30-11:45am. Yoga increases flexibility and can help lower stress and tension through a series of poses that connect the body with the breath. The class finishes with a 15 minute guided meditation to encourage relaxation.
