On 5/8 clinton twp hosted 18 towns to launch a suit against the state over the new coah - low income housing - rules. Cl Twp supports the league of municipalities legal action against coah, too, but considers theirs to be focused on towns that are in compliance with coah, have filed their 3rd round plans, and were assigned insupportable housing obligations. There will be more to come in next couple of weeks. The groups attorney is Stuart Koenig, who is probably the leading coah strategist in the state. The municipalities believe the new rules violate the fha and impose staggering costs on taxpayers. They would bankrupt many towns.
