On Thursday, January 10, at approximately 1:10 pm, Hunterdon County Communications received a 9-1-1 hang-up call from a Creek Rim Road residence. Upon making contact with the caller, police learned there was a smell of smoke coming from the basement of the residence. While enroute, police and the fire company officers were advised that there was a fire in the basement of the residence. The Annandale Fire Company extinguished the fire but not before the basement suffered moderate damage. No one was injured and there were no suspicious circumstances.
