HUNTERDON COUNTY - One thing you gotta love about mayor Corc over there in Cl Twp is that he doesn't mince words when something's on his mind.
One of last nights missiles was aimed directly at the CL Twp board of education, or lack of education as the mayor seems to see it.
This is a paraphrase quote summing up his emotions because once he gets rolling its hard to keep up with pen on paper.
"One thing I cannot believe is that the same searching firm who placed Dr Nastus at Del Val is placing the new person in Cl Twp. This is a conflict of interest. This is not ethical. I want them to explain that to me, though they cleverly rescheduled this months meeting so no one could attend it. Which brinbgs up another issue of why they can't seem to record their meetings for the public. Our meetings are available online now in audio how come they can't do the same. I went to graduation at the school and the kids put on a great multimedia show, you're telling me this board can't simply record their meetings. We can have our township clerk show them how to press the button if need be.
I'm very concerned about this search firm. I also heard all this stuff from the board that they wanted to work more closely with the council, Well I have asked them three times now without response if we could have a member or two from council on the search committee and I still am getting no input about that.
Then there is the issue with this supposed retirement buy out package for ex super Nastus of 165K. Are you kidding me. All we heard about last year was how the district had no money. The administration had the never to tell the kids to bring their own Kleenex to school because they couldn't afford it and then we have our auditor go in and find 800k unaccounted for and then we get this buyout of 165K for the superintendent, it is utterly appalling that the board would even consider giving her this money and in case you didn't notice last weekends article that stated she was the highest paid administrator in NJ, making more than the high school super, and you wonder why our taxes are so high and you wonder how the board could have made her such a ridiculous offer in the first place and just so you know that 165K retirement package is three times, yes three times higher than any other in the state of NJ and you wonder why places like Union Twp end up getting run by the department of education."
