TITLE: RVCC TO OFFER SIX SIGMA SERIES

Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) Corporate & Continuing Education (CCE) division is offering a series of courses in Six Sigma. Six Sigma presents a rigorous, focused and highly effective implementation of proven quality principles and techniques that focuses on error-free business performance and uses statistics to measure the variability in the process. The following courses are being offered:
Six Sigma: (White Belt)
2 sessions: Monday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 10
6-9 p.m.; $119
The course is designed to present a broad understanding of Lean/Six Sigma
principles and practices. Students learn to implement Lean/Six Sigma
initiatives.
Six Sigma: (Yellow Belt)
2 sessions: Monday, September 15 and Wednesday, September 17
6-9 p.m.; $189
Students learn how to implement the Lean/Six Sigma principles by linking the
concepts to business priorities. Concepts presented include the PDCA (Plan, Do,
Check, Act) methodology and the laws of Six Sigma. Students identify processes
that could benefit from improvement and when to apply specific methodology.
Six Sigma: (Green Belt)
10 sessions: Wednesdays, September 24-December 3
No class on November 26
6-9 p.m.; $389
The course continues to build upon the Lean/Six Sigma foundational concepts by providing case studies that offer practical applications. Principles such as preventive maintenance, sustainability, performance metrics and lean enterprise alignment are presented. An introduction into Black Belt methods is also given.
