Review - NESHANIC VALLEY GOLF COURSE - This is NJ finest Municipal Course BACK NINE

  Making the turn

The first hole on the meadow course is a straight forward downhill par four. The green slopes a good deal from right to left so hug the right bunker on your second shot and let the ball  funnel to the hole.

a view of the clubhouse from the first green meadow course.

On two you must stay out of the hazard on the left. the long grass will simply eat you up. A good tee ball give you easy access to the green.

It looks short from the tee box and it is. Two of my playing partners who are approx 15 handicaps blew the ball over the green, one with a nine, one with a pitching wedge from the blues. Beware though, anything short will bite quickly and leave a tricky chip.

The tee shot is easily visible, but on your second shot beware of the bunkers that hug the right side, you can see the first one but there are two more sneaky ones laying in wait after that that are not in view. The green is deep. Pay attention to flag stick location - by color of flag - if its in the back do not leave it short or risk an enormous putt that breaks farther left than you might think.

This is a wonderful par four. Aim left of the silo and you will have no problem.

Uphill Par three. I took two extra clubs to give the hill respect and hit it to four  feet. The bunker to the left is a hard up and down, middle of the green is always a prudent play.

This is a short par four. The greenside bunker on the front left is bigger and farther reaching than you can see. Take dead aim and try to hit the green out to the right off the tee - a true risk reward.

Left is dead off the tee. It plays uphill and into the breeze so focus on getting that tee ball deep or you will have a very long carry. Between the green and the fairway is a large area of tight first cut about 80 yards from the middle. If you get in there take at least one extra as it grabs the club.

Our Bashful Beverage Bringer.

This par five is a monster. It plays straight uphill. There is a pond on the left that seems to run about one hundred yards which gobbles up aggressive runs at the flag. As you can see the clubhouse provides a great vista from the highest point on the property.
