TITLE: Most of Lambertville incidents alcohol related

Case #08-1217:

Thomas Donovan, 47, of Flemington was arrested for DUI July 4th.

Sgt. Robert Brown observed Donovan stop his Mazda sedan in the lane of travel on Hancock Street before exiting on the side of the road at 9:15 PM. Sgt. Brown approached Donovan as other motorists were swerving around his stopped vehicle. Donovan was determined to be under the influence of alcohol and subsequently arrested. Open containers of alcohol were allegedly found in Donovan’s vehicle.

Donovan was charged with DUI, Reckless Driving, Obstruction of Traffic and Possession of an open container of alcohol in motor vehicle. He was later released with a pending court date.

 

Case #08-1213:

Dana Swainson, 23, of Ewing was arrested for DUI in the early morning hours of July 4th.

Ptl. Anthony Memolo stopped Swainson’s Ford Taurus on Rt. 518 at 2:40 AM after he was observed driving erratically and because his vehicle had no operational brake lights. Swainson was determined to be driving while under the influence of alcohol. Swainson was charged with DUI, careless Driving and Failure to Maintain Lamps. He was later released with a pending court date.

 

Case #08-1192:

A 17 year-old juvenile from Hamilton was arrested for DUI Tuesday July 1st, after being caught leaving the property of the Old Lambertville High School.

Ptl. Anthony Memolo was conducting a check of the property at 10:20 PM when he spotted a Hyundai Sonata, with four juveniles, exiting the driveway to the Old High School at a high rate of speed. After stopping the juvenile driver, Ptl. Memolo detected the odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle as well as the driver. An open 40-ounce bottle of malt liquor was also allegedly confiscated from the vehicle. The juvenile driver was charged with DUI, Underage DUI, Careless Driving, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle and Violation of a Provisional Driver’s License. The last charge stems from the fact the juvenile driver had three additional juvenile passengers in his vehicle at the time of the incident. The other three juveniles were taken into protective custody and later released to their respective parents. The accused was also released to his parents with a pending court date.

 

 

 

 

Case #08-1215:

Erasmo Tapia, 26, of New Hope, PA was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Hinder Apprehension after an incident on July 4th.

 

Ptl. Michael Gramlich was called to the area of South Union Street and Ferry Street at 3:00 PM, on a report of a subject who was lying on the sidewalk unconscious. Upon arrival, Ptl. Gramlich found Tapia allegedly intoxicated and passed out on the sidewalk causing tourist and residents to step over him. After being awoken, Tapia allegedly provided a false name until he was identified by a New Hope Police Officer who had responded to assist. Tapia was charged and later released with a pending court date.

 

Case #08-1201:

Jaime Salas, 25, of New Hope, PA was arrested on an outstanding warrant July 2nd, as a result of a motor vehicle stop.

 

Sgt. Robert Brown stopped Salas on Bridge Street after he was observed running a red light. Salas was found to be suspended in New Jersey and to have an active warrant for his arrest for failure to appear in Raritan Township on traffic charges. Salas was charged with Failure to Observe a Traffic Signal, Driving while Suspended and Failure to Produce a Driver’s License. He was later released after posting $500.00 bail.

 

Case #08-1219:

Clement Otto, 49, of Trenton was arrested on active warrants subsequent to a motor vehicle stop July 5th.

 

Ptl. Michael Gramlich stopped Otto on Rt. 29 at 2:00 AM for a malfunctioning brake light. A check revealed Otto had two active warrants for his arrest for failure to appear in Trenton and Ewing on criminal charges, with total bail set at $450.00. Otto was taken into custody and later released after posting bail. He was provided with a warning for failure to maintain lamps.

 

Case #08-1191:

Ulises Vacquez, 36, of Lambertville was arrested on an outstanding warrant July 1st.

 

Ptl. Michael Gramlich recognized Vacquez, who was known to have a warrant issued for his arrest issued by the City, walking on Union Street at 5:20 PM. Vacquez

Was taken into the custody for the warrant, which was issued after Vacquez failed to appear in court on assault charges. Vacquez was later released on his own recognizance with a new court date.

 

 

Case #08-1199:

 

A resident on Perry Road reported the theft of parts for his late-model racecar on Wednesday July 2nd.

 

The parts, which were removed from the racecar for maintenance, were taken sometime in the morning or early afternoon on Wednesday from an unlocked garage. The parts were described as two sheet metal fenders painted bright yellow with blue flames and a black steel bumper. Any persons with information of the theft are asked to contact the Lambertville City Police Department at 609-397-3132. Ptl. Anthony Memolo is investigating.
